Be the Church
"For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."

What started 7 years ago as a day of service has truly become a part of our DNA. We no longer just go to church, or do church, but we strive to Be the Church in our homes, workplace and neighborhoods.  Twice a year we take the opportunity and provide a day of concentrated service to our Flint community.  Partnering with the Flint Land Bank these BTC days have seen close to 1,000 abandoned houses boarded up and their properties cleaned of brush, weeds, and trash. The goal is more than beautification as it creates safer areas for those who reside on these streets.  BTC events offer opportunities for families to serve together painting, cleaning parks, serving free lunch at the community cook out, and hosting a carnival complete with bounce houses, cotton candy and face painting.  2016 events will take place in October.

Little Lamb's Closet has been providing respite and hope to families in crisis in our community for ten years. Hope comes through a winter coat, a pair of sandals, a safe bed, an extra blanket, diapers, bottles, or toys to wrap and set under the Christmas tree. Respite comes through a friendly smile, a warm embrace, and hands and hearts to pray.

Our sister congregation and mission are both found at the corner of Franklin and Delaware on Flint's east side.  You'll find us there as well as we partner with Pastor Tanya Cox and Mission Director, Roger Lutz.  Our teams prepare and serve lunch on Sundays to the congregation, teach Sunday School to the children, serve lunch during the week and provide games and school supplies at the annual back to school bash.
